Suzhou Grand Theatre(Suzhou Culture & Arts Centre)

The flagship theatre inside Suzhou Culture and Arts Centre — the landmark complex sometimes nicknamed Suzhou's “Bird's Nest” — and one of the city's most important stages for major international productions.

The theatre has brought an impressive collection of international musicals to Suzhou. Past productions include Cats, School of Rock, Mamma Mia!, Chicago, Evita, The Sound of Music and Matilda, alongside French-language hits including Romeo and Juliet, Mozart, l'opéra rock and Notre-Dame de Paris. In 2019 alone, five major international musicals played 36 performances here; Cats had sold out ten performances the previous year.

Its programme goes well beyond musicals, with major ballet, dance, drama and classical performances and past appearances by internationally renowned artists and companies.
