Formerly Huayi Brothers Movie World 华谊兄弟电影世界, the park was renamed Suzhou Yangcheng Peninsula Theme Park in July 2025 as part of a major overhaul under new operator Haihean Cultural Tourism. Rather than abandoning everything that came before, the revamped park combines existing movie-themed areas and rides with new family attractions, live entertainment and stronger links to Suzhou culture and its Yangcheng Lake setting.
The park covers around 460,000 sqm and has more than 30 rides and attractions alongside 30+ live shows and performances. Several of the original movie-inspired areas remain, including zones based around Assembly, If You Are the One and Tai Chi, together with the grand Tang-style Zhuangyuan City 状元城.
Live entertainment has become an increasingly important part of the experience. Current productions include the large-scale immersive show The Return of the Zhuangyuan 状元归来 and motorcycle stunt show Desperate Racing 绝境狂飙, while seasonal programmes can add parades, traditional theatre, street performances and fireworks.
Suzhou Scene tip
If you remember Huayi Brothers Movie World, it's worth another look. The old movie-themed park hasn't simply changed its name — more than RMB 100 million has been invested since 2025 in new attractions, entertainment and the huge Nailong family area.

One of the biggest changes is the arrival of Nailong 奶龙, the hugely popular Chinese cartoon character.
The dedicated Nailong Magic Time area covers more than 30,000 sqm and contains over 30 interactive attractions and experiences. Its centrepiece is the large indoor Nailong Magic World 奶龙魔法天地, giving families an air-conditioned option during Suzhou's hottest and coldest months.
The area also includes Nailong Happy Driving School, character experiences, themed dining and the original family stage production Nailong's Magical Adventure.
Shows, festivals & night-time events
This isn't now purely a rides-based theme park. Haihean has been pushing it towards a mixture of theme park, performance venue and lakeside entertainment destination.
During the 2026 summer season, its second Lakeside Theatre Festival ran for more than 50 days, incorporating Kunqu, Suzhou opera, Wuju, Qinqiang, Pingtan, stunt performances and immersive shows. The festival attracted more than 300,000 visits.
Summer evenings also included parades and nightly lakeside fireworks, while many rides remained open after dark.
