Suzhou Science & Technology Museum (SND)

Opened in March 2026, Suzhou Science & Technology Museum is one of the city's newest major family attractions. The museum covers around 63,000 sqm and contains 511 interactive exhibits, with an emphasis on participation and experimentation rather than simply looking at displays.

The museum is organised around seven permanent exhibition galleries, covering subjects including the natural world, physics, technology, space and Suzhou's own history of scientific and technological development. There are also seven dedicated learning spaces where children can take part in educational and hands-on activities.

Another major feature is its three special-effects theatres, including a large dome theatre, which use immersive projection and other technology to turn science and astronomy into more of an experience.
There's plenty here for younger children, but this isn't simply a children's museum. Many of the exhibits are designed to engage older children, teenagers and adults too, making it somewhere a family could easily spend several hours.

Allow more time than you would for a conventional museum. With hundreds of hands-on exhibits and interactive experiences, this is somewhere children actually do things rather than being expected to quietly walk around looking at display cases.
