Located on Yangcheng Lake Peninsula, Suzhou NASCAR Karting Base is an outdoor karting circuit using petrol-powered karts rather than the electric karts increasingly common at indoor entertainment centres.
The venue covers around 8,600 sqm and has recently introduced a new 600-metre professional circuit. The Yangcheng Lake Peninsula tourism authority describes it as Suzhou's only fuel-powered karting venue, making this one of the more serious karting options in the city.
There's still plenty here for beginners and families. The fleet includes 270cc single-seater karts, 200cc two-seaters and dedicated children's karts, so younger visitors don't necessarily have to sit on the sidelines while adults race. Helmets and other protective equipment are provided, and beginners receive guidance before heading onto the circuit.
A timing system adds a competitive element for friends and groups, while the outdoor setting and petrol engines make the experience feel considerably closer to actual motorsport than an arcade-style karting attraction.
For families
This isn't just aimed at adult petrolheads. Children's karts and two-seater karts make it possible for families to take part together, and the Peninsula tourism authority specifically promotes the circuit as a parent-and-child activity.
