Rising 128 metres above the eastern shore of Jinji Lake, Suzhou Eye is one of the most striking landmarks on Suzhou's modern skyline.

Long-time residents may remember the original Jinji Lake Ferris wheel, which opened on the same site in 2009. The 120-metre wheel became one of the early landmarks of the developing Jinji Lake area before eventually closing for redevelopment in 2022. The present Suzhou Eye is an entirely new observation wheel, opening in March 2025 as part of the redevelopment of the Jinji Lake Right Bank area.

The new wheel stands 128 metres high and has 28 large panoramic cabins, each capable of carrying up to 25 passengers. A complete rotation takes around 30 minutes, with 360-degree views across Jinji Lake and the surrounding city.

From the highest point, you can look across the lake towards landmarks including the Gate of the Orient, LiGongDi, Suzhou Culture & Arts Centre and the towers of the Jinji Lake business district. The experience changes considerably after dark as the skyline lights up, making sunset and evening rides particularly popular.

Suzhou Eye is described by the local authorities as Asia's largest over-water Ferris wheel and is the eighth observation wheel worldwide to use its rotating capsule design.
