Ming Art Museum

An independent art museum on Ligongdi with a particular focus on pastel art. Founded in 2015, Ming was China's first specialist art institution established to promote pastel art, while its programme also encompasses other forms of Chinese and Western painting. The museum has around 2,300 sqm of space, including four exhibition halls and two multifunction rooms.

Ming has become an important centre for pastel art in China, organising exhibitions, educational programmes and international exchanges with artists and institutions from around the world. It has staged more than 200 art exhibitions and 300 arts activities, and built a collection of more than 1,000 works. International projects have included French and Spanish pastel exhibitions.

The museum is also closely associated with the China (Suzhou) International Pastel Biennial, which brings together leading Chinese and international pastel artists.
