H+ Art Museum is a contemporary art museum on Shangtang Street, bringing striking modern architecture and changing exhibitions to one of Suzhou’s historic urban neighbourhoods.

Opened in 2025, the museum occupies a distinctive fair-faced concrete building designed to contrast with — while still responding to — the traditional architecture surrounding it. Inside, four contemporary exhibition halls provide a minimalist backdrop for painting, sculpture, installation and multimedia works, with exhibitions changing throughout the year.

The building is part of the experience. Natural light, exposed concrete and carefully framed views create plenty to explore between the artworks, while larger installations extend onto the museum's outdoor and rooftop spaces.

Its location also makes H+ easy to combine with a wider day out. The museum sits on Shangtang Street in the Shilu area, close to Suzhou MixC and within walking distance of Shilu Metro Station.

Allow around 1–2 hours for a typical visit, although this will depend on the exhibitions running at the time.

Suzhou Scene Tip
Check the current exhibition before visiting — H+ is built around changing contemporary art shows, so what you see can be very different from one visit to the next. The building itself is also worth taking time to explore.

Free admission is shown for:

  • Visitors aged 70+

Conditions and ticket prices may vary by exhibition.
