The Omnific: Low-Frequency Resonance

Australian progressive instrumental trio The Omnific bring their first China tour to Suzhou this September — with a band setup that's anything but conventional. There’s no guitar and no vocalist. Instead, bassists Matt Fackrell and Toby Peterson-Stewart take centre stage, backed by drummer Jerome Lematua, using two bass guitars to handle everything from heavy riffs and melodies to intricate rhythms and atmospheric soundscapes.

Formed in Melbourne, The Omnific have developed a sound that moves between progressive rock and metal, djent, funk and electronic influences. Their debut album Escapades reached No. 3 on Australia's AIR Independent Album Chart, while their music has attracted attention from Metal Hammer, Guitar World, Bass Player and PROG.

They've since toured extensively across Australia, Europe and North America, sharing stages with acts including Polyphia, The Hu, Intervals and Ne Obliviscaris. Their second album, The Law of Augmenting Returns, even features a guest bass solo from Charles Berthoud — who, coincidentally, will also be performing in Suzhou in October.

The Low-Frequency Resonance tour marks The Omnific's first visit to China, with eight stops including Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Chengdu, Guangzhou and Shenzhen.
