The Suzhou Museum of Contemporary Art fully opens to the public on Sunday, August 30, bringing a striking new cultural landmark to the shores of Jinji Lake.

Inspired by Suzhou’s classical gardens, the museum is made up of several buildings connected by flowing, ribbon-like roofs and sheltered walkways. Glass walls, water corridors and views across the lake blur the boundaries between the museum and its surroundings, while the changing perspectives are designed to recreate the experience of wandering through a traditional Suzhou garden.

The opening programme features four major exhibitions, spanning Picasso and international masters, contemporary art, cutting-edge technology and architecture. Tickets start from ¥80 and include access to all four.
